Ganesha: Divine Consciousness Manifested in a Magnificent Form

One peaceful morning, a little child stood before Lord Ganesha.

The fragrance of incense filled the air. A small lamp flickered gently before Him, illuminating the fresh green durvā grass and vibrant red hibiscus blossoms lovingly offered at His feet, along with fragrant flowers and a plate of delicious modakas. The red hibiscus added a beautiful touch of colour to the sacred offering, traditionally cherished in Ganesha worship.

The child folded their hands and whispered,

“Sharanam Ganesha… Varada Ganesha…”

Looking at the magnificent form before them, the child asked,

“Ganesha, why do you have so many names?”

Ganesha smiled.

“Because, my child, every name tells you something about Me. And every part of My form has something to teach you.”

“Why are your ears so big?”

“To remind you to listen more and speak less. Listen not only to words, but also to hearts and silence.”

“And your small eyes?”

“To teach you to focus. When the mind is steady, wisdom becomes clearer.”

The child looked at His curved trunk.

“My trunk is strong enough to uproot a tree and gentle enough to lift a flower. Learn to be strong when strength is needed and gentle when gentleness is possible.”

“And Your single tusk?”

“Ekadanta reminds you that sometimes we must let go of something for a greater purpose.”

The child smiled at Ganesha's large belly.

“What does Your big belly teach us?”

“To accept and digest life—the sweet and the bitter, joy and sorrow, praise and criticism. Learn from them, but do not carry bitterness within.”

The child noticed the little mouse at His feet.

“And Mooshika?”

“The restless mouse is like the mind and its endless desires. When guided by wisdom, even the restless mind can become your servant.”

“And the modaka?”

Ganesha smiled.

“Its sweetness is hidden within, just as true joy and wisdom are found within you.”

The child thought for a moment.

“Ganesha, You are called Vighna Vināyaka—the remover of obstacles. Will You remove every obstacle from my life?”

Ganesha gently shook His head.

“Not every obstacle should be removed. Some protect you, some teach you, and some reveal the strength within you. I may not always remove the obstacle, but I can give you the wisdom to cross it.”

The child looked at Him with wonder.

“But Ganesha… are You only this beautiful form?”

Ganesha smiled.

“No, my child. I am the formless Divinity expressed through a magnificent form. I am the consciousness that pervades all and brings order to creation. I am in every breath, every thought and every living being.”

“Then where can I find You?”

“Close your eyes,” said Ganesha.

The child closed them.

“Look within. The awareness that watches your thoughts, the silence behind your mind and that is where you will find Me.”

The child opened their eyes.

Suddenly, Ganesha was not merely Gajānana, Ekadanta, Vakratunda or Lambodara.

He was not merely the remover of obstacles or the giver of blessings.

He was the Divine presence within and around everything.

Just then, the child's parents, grandparents, relatives and friends began walking in, one by one, to offer their prayers and seek Ganesha's blessings. The quiet space soon filled with the fragrance of flowers, the glow of lamps, the sound of bells and the warmth of many loving voices.

The child folded their hands along with everyone else. Their heart was filled with devotion, and the words began to flow like a prayer.

As the final notes faded, everyone raised their hands in devotion and joy:

Ganpati Bappa Morya!

Mangala Moorthi Morya!

Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Ya!

And perhaps, in that moment, the child understood:

The form helps us see Him.
The symbols help us understand Him.
The prayer helps us connect with Him.
And the consciousness within us helps us realise Him.

Sharanam Ganesha. 🙏

The Little Detour

Some evenings begin with a feeling you can't quite explain.

You don't plan anything.
You don't set out with a purpose.
You simply feel like stepping outside.

That evening was one such evening.

The sky had turned a beautiful, deep grey. Dark clouds gathered overhead, quietly hinting that heavier rain was on its way. The breeze had become cooler, the trees were swaying gently, and somewhere around me, birds continued to chirp as though nothing had changed.

I walked down the stairs and stood near the main door.

It was raining.

I paused for a moment.

Should I go?

I went back upstairs.

I grabbed my umbrella from the utility, opened it halfway, and got it ready.

One press, and I'm good to go.

I took it and headed back down. Just as I had imagined, I pressed the unlock button.

Click.

The umbrella opened.

Perfect.

And I started walking.

As I crossed the road, vehicles passed by, their tyres brushing against the wet surface. Honks came from every direction. The rain had made the roads busier and noisier, yet somehow the whole evening still felt calm.

The grey sky, the cool breeze, the sound of birds...

Everything felt strangely beautiful.

Perhaps that is what a rainy evening does to busy streets—it softens them somehow.

And then I reached my little destination.

I call it Coffee Bay.

Not because that is its real name. It's simply what I call my little coffee zone—a place my soul associates with that comforting aroma and the promise of a good cup.

As I approached, I realised it was crowded.

Oh no.

For a moment, I wondered if I would even get what I had come for.

But somehow, I walked in.

I ordered.

One strong filter coffee.

I scanned.

I paid.

And waited.

It was probably only two minutes.

But when you are eagerly waiting for something, two minutes can feel surprisingly long.

I stood there, restless and impatient, watching for my cup.

And finally...

There it was.

My coffee.

Piping hot.

Freshly brewed.

That beautiful creamy layer of milk sitting over a deep, strong decoction.

I took my first sip.

Then added just a few more sugar granules.

That's when the person brewing the coffee asked,

"Is it bitter, ma'am? It's brewed strong."

I smiled.

"Certainly not bitter."

Because strong coffee isn't bitter coffee.

Strong coffee has character. It has depth. It has a life of its own—something words can't quite describe.

It has that unmistakable aroma of freshly roasted beans, the richness of a well-made decoction, and that comforting warmth that spread through me with every sip.

And this one was exactly how I wanted it.

Strong.

Rich.

Roasted.

Aromatic.

Smooth.

Creamy.

Fresh.

Perfect.

I loved the fact that it had been brewed especially strong for me.

I stood there with that warm cup in my hands, looking out at the grey sky and the rain outside.

The crowd didn't bother me anymore.

Neither did the traffic.

Neither did the fact that I had walked out in the rain just for this one cup.

Because sometimes, the little effort we make to satisfy a simple craving is what makes the moment memorable.

Neither extravagant nor complicated.

Just strong filter coffee on a beautiful rainy evening.

And perhaps that is the magic of coffee.

It doesn't always need a grand occasion.

Sometimes, all it needs is rain, grey clouds overhead, the sound of birds, a cool breeze, and a cup brewed exactly the way you like it.

So, to every coffee lover reading this - let the rain set the mood, let the aroma rise, and brew yourself a piping-hot cup of strong filter coffee. Take that first sip slowly, and let the coffee tell you its own story.

And if you're wondering where my little Coffee Bay is—the coffee zone nestled below a huge banyan tree—leave a comment.

Maybe I'll tell you where to find it. ☕️

Until then...

Stay strong.
Stay rich.
Stay roasted.
Stay aromatic.
Stay caffeinated.☕️

Because sometimes, all you need is a little detour and a really good cup of filter coffee.☕️

Rise Like a Lotus!

From silent waters blooms the Padma,
Bathed in the warmth of morning's gold;
Rising above the depths below,
A timeless story softly told.

It wears the sunlight with quiet grace,
Yet draws its strength from hidden ground;
A reminder that true Bhakti lives
Where faith, patience, and peace are found.

The lotus never forgets its source,
Though crowned by beauty, light, and sky;
So may my soul, through every blessing,
Hold fast to truth as years pass by.

From sacred mud its roots arise,
Transforming struggle into art;
Just so, the Divine reveals itself
To a devoted, seeking heart.

O blessed Padma, teach me...
To rise with gratitude, not pride;
To bloom in peace, with patient soul,
And keep devotion deep inside.

Betrayal Was God’s Blessing

The pain of betrayal opened my eyes,
Like dark clouds parting from the skies.
I kept on chasing fading love,
While praying for signs from God above.

I begged for care, for warmth, for truth,
Holding tightly to broken roots.
But slowly hearts I called my own,
Turned cold as ice, like hearts of stone.

The smiles they wore were never real,
Hidden wounds I could not heal.
The souls once close, so dear to me,
Became like shadows I couldn’t see.

Then God arrived with silent light,
To pull me out from endless night.
He showed me pain was not the end,
But a lesson meant to help me mend.

Now I no longer chase what’s fake,
Or lose myself for someone’s sake.
For every goodbye that made me cry,
Was God protecting me nearby.

Some people leave, some colors fade,
Some bonds were never meant to stay.
And every betrayal helped me see,
My worth, my strength, and set me free.

The Bird That Makes My Every Morning Special!

Cool breeze and golden rays,
Birds are singing cheerful lays,
Flowers spread their sweet perfume,
Chasing every trace of gloom.

Then my eyes begin to search,
For my little friend to perch.
Every beat within my heart
Waits for him to make his start.

Suddenly I hear the sound
Of tiny wings that fly around.
The moment he sees my cup of tea,
He quickly flies and sits near me.

Softly landing on my shoulder,
Making my happy mornings brighter.
From my palm he eats his channa grain,
Like a friend who comes again.

After that he spreads his wings,
Flying off while sweetly singing,
Joining all his friends in play,
To welcome yet another day.

Every morning starts with him,
Filling my heart up to the brim.
Oh, how beautiful life can be,
Starting each day so peacefully.

Echoes of Pain!

Like leeches that cling, sucking life away

Some partners drain, with hearts of disarray

Their love, a facade, a mask to conceal

The sadistic pleasure in another's reveal

Their grip, like leeches, tight and cold

Leaving scars, a story untold

The joy they take, a twisted delight

In another's pain, their darkest night

The leech's bite, a wound that won't heal

A constant reminder of love that's unreal

The sadistic partner's heart, a void so dark

Where empathy's lost, and distorted love embarks.

A dance of pain, a waltz of despair

Where one partner's joy, is the other's snare

The leech and the sadist, a twisted pair

Leaving destruction, without a care.

Hate None!

Everybody likes my flavor
But, I Couldn't withstand myself
When My flavor witnesses
Death, A Painful end to an Innocent Life!

These lines just flashed as sugarcane juice was flowing inside my throat. Then, He Said.....

I have just two ends
I loose my sight
When, I'm dipped
In those flavors of Ginger/Lemon
Nobody is bothered about me
But, I Do care for people's throat.

I'm never an hindrance
To someone's throat
I hate None; I love None
But, I Do care for people's throat.

As People Sip,
They Enjoy The Flavor
Their Sharp Teeth Hurt Me
Still, I'm never an Hindrance
As, I Do care for People's Throat.

I wish to crawl out
To protect myself from being hurt
I loose my voice when I'm dipped
In those flavors which suffocates Me
But, I Do Care for People's Throat
As They Love The Flavor flowing down their Throat.

Once, They Drink
They Crush Me To Death
Where is the humanity?
To At least Thank for helping them
In enjoying Flavors of Ginger/Lemon.
But, I Don't expect, As I Do care for People.

That's the life of the straw!

Weird Footsteps....
Scary Noises
She Heard,
Foul Play, She Felt....

Raised An Alarm,
Alerted Me And,
Within Seconds.....

Her Eyeballs Hanged Out
To Wake Her Up from The

Come What May..........

I Was Grabbed, Held Captive, Pierced, Killed And Thrown Somewhere Down The Forest Hills. I Suddenly Realized  My Self-Being On The Land of This Cruel World. I Never Wished To Step My Feet Beyond The  Planet Earth.

When Something Fell
On My Cracked Lips,
I Failed To Identify It.

When Something Forcibly
Pierced My Eyes I Couldn't
Withstand Myself.

When Something Crawled
Inside My Nostrils,
I Was Totally Being
Forced To Sneeze.

When Some Rope
Forcibly Pulled My Ears
I Felt Someone
Is Hiding My Body
Under The Mud.

The Moment My Finger Tips
Felt The Touch of The Mud,
The Moment My Nostrils
Grabbed The Blissful Smell of The Mud.
The Moment My Mouth Swallowed
Some Particles of Mud,
The Moment My Ears Heard
The Sound of The Crane,

I Realised, "Come What May", Someone Is Trying To Save Me Even At Pitch Dark. Those Torch Lights Were Piercing My Eyes, Some Dust Had Entered My Nostrils, For Which I Was Forced To Sneeze To Clear My Passage. So As To Atleast Pull The Air Inside To Breathe, To Keep Myself Alive, As Air Was The Only Food, With Which I Had To Sustain Myself. One of The Stem of The Baby Plant Had Grabbed & Tied Itself To My Ears For Its Support, As It Didn't Wanted To Be Grabbed Out of The Lap of Mother Earth. Thanks To Mother Earth For Giving Me A New Life. Some One Spotted My Body & I Was Finally Saved To Always Be Intact With Mother Earth!

Sadhana's Achievement!

This is my entry for Chicken Soup for the Indian Entrepreneur's Soul.
I wish to get my story published in Chicken Soup for the Indian Entrepreneurs Soul
 in association with BlogAdda.com

For summer vacations, I always go to my grandmother's place to spend some time with her as well as to enjoy few days in my village, walk around the mango fields and the nature which embraces me gracefully beyond my own imagination. During my summer vacation I peacefully enjoy the train journey. Some Four months back itself, I book my ticket and make sure, I spend complete two months with my grandmother, who brought me up, took an excellent care of me. I was extremely excited to meet grandma after one year and I started dreaming about my grandma. My tongue slips out on its own for her preparations of all delicious dishes, for which I'll always be most eagerly waiting to taste ranging from Sweet, Sour, Bitter & Spicy. She is the one who always support me for all my mischievous activities & save me from my parents scolding’s. After saving me, grandma always used to taunt me saying, you have such a sweet name Shanti, which means Inner Peace, but you are always restless Shanti. I just hug & Lay my head on her Lap. As an Interruption to my dreams & memories, something Strange happened in my train journey, which I had never ever even imagined it would ever happen. Though everyone feels that, it’s something casual about a meet with my long lost friend, I always say to myself that, it all happened which was already decided by God, As I always believe in Fate & Luck!

Hey Shanti, How come you are here? asked Sadhana. Sadhana, Hi Dear, how is you? I'm fine. ohh my god, I couldn't believe whether I am hallucinating or seeing you in reality? Hugged each other & exchanged smiles. After few minutes of silence, I resumed conversation. Sadhana, how come you are here? Why you didn't inform about your sudden quit after 5th class? Why did you leave the school? What happened? She kept smiling without answering any of my questions. Finally she took a breath & said Shanti, you are still a chatterbox! ohh ya, I'm sorry. I'll shut my mouth for a while & you please answer me Dear. Sadhana, as her name says, she was always chasing her dream to achieve as a Dancer, which just passed my lens seeing her hand movements while conversing. Shanti, as you know, I'm an orphan. But, being an orphan was never a Hindrance for me to achieve & realise who I'm? I had to quit school after 5th class, as I didn't had any penny to pay for my school fees. School people, didn’t even permit me to write my exam. I was totally desperate & depressed about myself. I did all odd jobs which I could ever have done after becoming an Adult. But, since money is the main culprit for all the achievements I was forced to work day & night. Morning I worked as flower seller, During Noon I worked as an assistant cook & cleaner at a dancer Kalavati aunt's house & by 5pm-7:00pm I used to work in playmate to take care of few kids, which meagerly would fetch me Rs.1500/-pm. Then, in the night I used to practice few dance steps which I always observed in Kalavati aunt's house. So, somehow I would live with one meal a day, as Kalavati aunt used to feed me lunch & evening tea.

One fine day, Kalavati aunt's daughter, Shalini who was very kind & caring approached me, asking if I could teach her toughest subject Mathematics. I prayed God & tried solving few problems & finally I understood mathematics trick & taught her. I felt it as a Miracle Shanti. I was totally in tears thanking God, who is my only guardian. That very moment, Kalavati, aunt came and asked about my tears. Her cute daughter Shalini told her mother, that, Sadhana made mathematics as my ever best friend mom. Kalavati aunt thanked me & asked about my level of education. I told her that I was forced  to quit my school after 5th class due to financial issues, she felt very bad & asked If I'm interested in joining the school & resuming my studies. I jumped with happiness & again Thanked God without whose grace, I wouldn't have got such an encouraging, understanding, Loving & caring Kalavati aunt who gave me work and also because of her Moral Support, I cleared scholarship exams & my entire education fees was paid by an NGO. Today, I have A BA [Psychology] in my Hands.

Wow!!!!! Sadhana, you are really a Gem & I'm extremely happy for you Dear. Your Self-Determination, Effort & Hard-work paid you well in each step of your life. What about your dance dream then? Shanti, Kalavati aunt, herself taught me dance and I was regularly practicing it. After my BA, I joined a firm as a Consultant, and during one of the entertainment shows, I performed Bharatnatyam. I Got a Standing Ovation & One of the audience, Mr.Raman approached me, asking about my dance teacher & asked me, If I could Dance In a Charity Show for Deaf & Dumb, for which I happily agreed & from that show My life flourished with unbelievable experiences of rainbow colors in each step of my life Shanti.

Sadhana, I'm speechless about your achievements Dear. The achievement of your life is beyond anybody's Imagination. Shanti, during our school days, you always would comfort me with your most miraculous words Fate & Luck & they really proved as a miracle in my life Dear. Sadhana, Wish You All the Very Best Success, May God Always Bless You with Colorful, Ever Flourishing Life Dear. My Sincere Heartfelt Thanks To God, Kalavati Aunt for teaching you ever graceful art of dance, Shalini who made you realise you still are Mathematics expert as you were in those school days, and finally I thank that Gentleman, Mr.Raman who approached you for a dance show. You are truly an Inspiring woman for many youngsters Dear. Your life motivates many upcoming girls, whom we don't even personally know! I'm extremely very proud of you Dear :)

Exchanging smiles, hugged each other & Sadhana screamed with excitement saying, Shanti Train has already halted & it’s 9:00am. We have reached our villages. Ohh My God Sadhana, are you also from this Vishram village? Since, we both were so much lost in our talks, we didn't even realise when it turned dark & shined as early morning! Finally relishing tea in a nearby tea stall, exchanged our numbers, email ID's & there I finally saw my grandmother waiting for me. I Introduced Sadhana to my grandmother and grandmother took me & Sadhana home.

I jumped overjoyed, when Sadhana told me that, she has opened a dance school in our village “Vishram” to train, under-privileged kids. Sadhana had wholeheartedly welcomed Kalavati aunt to inaugurate her dance school named, “Kalakshetra”, prefixing her dance teacher’s name “Kalavati”.

Like A Huge Rush of Ice Waterfall!!!!!

Within Seconds I Was Floating
On The Pool of  My O+ve
Ahhhhh!!!!!! All My Nuts and Bolts Were Fallen Off
Trying To Drag Myself Out of The Blood Pool

Claiming Myself For An End,
For An Endless Journey!!!!!!

Loosing All My Energy,
Finally Decided To Rest Forever :-)
Time Didn't Even Alarm Me

To Self-Realise It Was Just A Dream!!!!!!!

Strange Love!

After A Long Time, Headed Towards My Garden To Water My Plants. Just Then, I Had My Evening Cup of  Ginger Tea. As I Proceeded With Baby Steps Monitoring Each & Every Part of Every Plant, I Heard A  Parrots Sound! I Was Curious Enough To Confirm Myself Whether It Was A Parrot or Whether I'm Still Dreaming, As I Was Dreaming About Nature While Having My Cup of Tea.

Walking Slowly & Steadily, Looking Everywhere, As If My Eyes Lens Are Microscopic, Spotted A Parrot Who Was Sitting On Berry Tree, Posing Like A Spy Hiding From Someone's Visibility. Wowwww!!!!!!!! So Colorful, Beautiful, Mesmerizing Parrot....Wish I Could Hold You In My Arms, Were The Praises & Wish Which Suddenly Bursted Out From My Heart! I Went Around The Tree To Have His Closest Glimpse & To Capture Him Forever In My Lens & Heart. As I Went Behind The Tree, Saw A Cuckoo About To Land Herself On The Other Tree, Which Was Actually A Green Chilli Tree!!!!! Uffff What A Confusion I Sighed!!!!!!!

Immediately Within Zero Seconds, Parrot Started Singing........

I Knew You Well,
You Never Forget Me
You Breath With Me, And I Breath With You....[High Pitch]
My Heart Beats After Yourssss......
I Know Thee Created You For Meee
And, Me For Youuuu!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm.......My Goodness!!!! Now I Clearly Understood, Why This Parrot Had Not Even Plucked A Single Green Chilly, Rather He Had Plucked Bunches of Berry's!!!! I Just Didn't Wanted To Be A Hindrance For Them, So I Just Came Back To My Kitchen, After Plucking Some Green Chillies To Use For My Dishes !!!!!

Rinku's Intelligence.

Pigeon's

Intelligence
Gave him the
Ever protective place
On the table top to
Nest & Lay-eggs.

Its Amazing To Know This!!!!! This What Rinku Pigeon Has Done When We All Were Away For A Month!

Rinku Is A Cute & Sweet Pigeon. Though She just keeps changing her place of stay once a while, Never miss her lunch with me. She is highly intellectual & most knowledgeable Pet. For past a month,Couldn't meet her. The moment she saw me, angrily screamed & alerted me self-explaining that, she already noticed me peeping through the windowpane. The Moment I went to feed her from my palm, she perched herself on my shoulder and made weird noise, as if she was taking revenge of anger on me. Well, I understood her grief, irritation for the non-availability of  me and the food on her regular plate.

I tried calming her down and made her understand that, I too had gone out of station for nearly a month & couldn't inform her before I left. She then calmed down, And Dancing with her feathers, showed me a Surprise!!!!! She always Thrilled me with her Surprises. But, This time, her Surprise was Unique compared to the one's she had given earlier. I just Grabbed her into my arms, seated her on my heart, fed her some grains from my palm, lovingly moved my palm on her feathers & kissed on her forehead, for which she reacted as if I embarrassed Her & She Flew off for a flight,  Came back and sat on her eggs.

Drifted Nap!!!!!

Shuttering My Eye-Lashes
Pinpointing My Sharped Nose
Lip Locked Myself
And, Drifted Off My Heart
To The World of Sound Sleep!!!!

My Mind Heard A Beep Sound
A Beep Sound of Early Morning
Assuming It As A Dream, Flowed
Into The World of Miniature.

 Beautiful Amazing Miniature
Ceased My Fluttering Eye Lashes
Stripped off My Lens
Overflowed My Happiness
As My Heart Repeatedly Bounced On......Self

Ahhhhh!!!!! Wishing To Stay Forever
Sailed On This Ocean of Miniature
Threw Myself On The Waves
And, Rafted Myself On This Waves of Happiness!!!!!!!!

Suddenly As A Tsunami Attack
Heard My Mom's Morning
Wake Up Screams And Woke Up To
The Peaceful Sound of Tsunami.
